Scientific Case

The heart of your proposal is the science case. This must be written in English and be 1 page of A4 paper. In the scientific part you should address the following topics:

Give a clear account of the aims of the experiment and set it within the broader scientific context.

If possible, give results of preliminary work carried out in support of your proposed experiment and to demonstrate sample quality.

List the 5 most important publications in this field of science in order to show that you are aware of the work of others.

Give reasons for your choice of instrument/infrastructure.

Justify why you need to use this particular instrument and why this VIPERLAB infrastructure is important.

Describe the scientific impact for the proposer and for the scientific community.

The detailed description of the experiment is depending of the choice of instrument and will follow later, after the technical requirements.
